Create a straightforward Windows bitmap from PNG artwork while choosing whether transparent pixels remain in a 32-bit file or are flattened into RGB.
What PNG to BMP changes
BMP output stores decoded PNG pixels in a Windows bitmap. Choose 32-bit RGBA when the destination supports an alpha channel, or 24-bit RGB when compatibility matters more than transparency. The BMP will normally be much larger than the PNG.
How to convert PNG to BMP
- Upload up to 50 PNG images or drop them into the workspace.
- Choose 24-bit RGB or 32-bit RGBA for the bitmap output.
- Convert the batch locally and download each BMP or one ZIP.
When this converter is useful
- Prepare icons for software that expects BMP input.
- Create uncompressed bitmap assets for legacy production systems.
Supported files and limitations
- Maximum input size is 50 MB; decoded-memory limits also apply
PNG to BMP questions
Will PNG transparency survive in BMP?
Choose 32-bit RGBA to keep alpha data. A 24-bit BMP has no alpha channel and uses the selected background instead.
Do these files leave my device?
No. Supported files are inspected and converted in this browser tab. Up to 50 files can be queued; up to 30 smaller files or three 50 MB files can be processed at once.
