Supported BMP files

ImageFormat accepts uncompressed 24-bit RGB and 32-bit RGBA BMP files. Paletted, compressed, OS/2, and unusual bitmap variants may be rejected instead of producing an unreliable result.

24-bit RGB or 32-bit RGBA output

Choose 24-bit RGB for broad compatibility with older applications. Choose 32-bit RGBA when the destination supports an alpha channel and the source image contains transparency. BMP output is normally much larger than PNG, JPG, or WebP.
